1. Fresh Milk
We partner with local Wisconsin farmers along with licensed milk haulers to ensure fresh, high-quality milk is at the heart of our cheesemaking process.
2. Award-Winning Baker String Cheese – The Steps We Take
Innovation is part of our heritage. For decades, our cheesemaking process has used high-quality ingredients and expert craftmanship to create our award-winning string cheese.
3. Stretching it – Why our cheese "strings"
Through generations we have honed the key elements of creating true, natural string cheese which all began with stretching our mozzarella into ropes by hand. Our method continues today with customized stainless steel stretching equipment to allow for consistent "stringiness" that is synonymous with BakerString Cheese.
4. Cooling it down
We use temperature-controlled salt brine to add the finishing touches to our traditional string cheese making process. These final steps help "lock in" the freshness of our signature string cheese.
5. Sealed for freshness
We package our string cheese in vacuum-sealed packages immediately after it is cooled down to help ensure the freshness of each stick. Our string cheese is made-to-order and ships daily from our facility.
